If you want to go into the health care field, then Newbridge College Long Beach is the school you want. For over 30 years, they have been helping people train to be the best in the health care field. The offer hands on training and the skills necessary to begin in as few as 8 months. Being one of the fastest growing fields, healthcare is something everyone wants to go into because they are guaranteed work. Everyone gets sick!
About the campus
The new bridge College Long Beach was opened in 2005 and it is just a continuation of the great school already started, just in a new location to better serve the growing number of students who want to go into the healthcare field. They do not have on campus housing or a meal plan but they have a student service that will help you locate housing. They have Host Families that rent rooms to students that include a room and meals. In 2007, they had 370 full time students. There is a library on campus and a student lounge for students to study and relax in. They have vending machines for snacks.
About the courses
The courses at Long Beach include
• Surgical technology-you will learn to be a key member in the surgical team in a hospital. This is a 62-week Diploma Program.
• Medical Laboratory Technician Associate-this is a career in Medical assistance and administration. It is a 30-week program.
• Medical Assistant-this teaches you to work in clinics and chiropractors offices. This is a 30-week program.
• Ultrasound (Diagnostic Medical Sonography)-this is an 18 month diploma program and teaches you to do ultrasounds and read them.
• Medical Biller/ Office management- trains you in human anatomy, medical terminology, and front office procedures etc. This is a 30-week program.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1)-This is an 8-week program so you can take the State Licensing Exam to become a technician.
