About the College

American Film Institute Conservatory is all about classic film making and preserving it for future generations. The conservatory was founded in 1967. The college has direct ties with the most well respected actors and filmmakers of today, as they are the members of the prestigious school. A.F.I. is an institute dedicated to celebrating the best in film, television, and digital media. The college also includes educators of the film industry and students that wish to pursue and conquer the film industry and all that the field has to offer.

Campus

The campus for the American Film Institute is located in no other than Los Angeles, California. The institute has the best location for well-distinguished actors as well as those trying to perfect their craft. The hills overlooking iconic Los Angeles provide the backdrop for all the acting that a student could ever want. The address of the campus is 2021 N. Western Avenue. The campus does not provide housing so students are on their own for that part, however it is easily accessible from the two major airports in California, LAX, and Burbank Airport. The campus can also be accessed from Orange County and all Valley locations.

Courses

The course at A.F.I. provides students with learning experiences that come alive. The boring set up of a classroom and blackboard are exchanged for camera set-ups and scene emotion exercises. There is a screen education center where students use digital cameras to tell stories and set themselves up for some of the best jobs in the industry. If motion picture technology is what you are after than the Catalyst Workshop is for you. This teaches engineers and scientists the inner workings of writing and initiating motion pictures.

There are several other programs offered, including a Directing Workshop for Women that teach everyone to use their skills creativity to succeed.
