Bakersfield College knows all about education. The school was founded in 1913 and is one of the oldest colleges still standing today. Bakersfield is a college that offers students a wide array of learning possibilities. Students can earn an associate’s degree or even transfer to a 4-year university when the timing is right. Campus

The campus at Bakersfield is set upon 153 acres. The main campus is located at 1801 Panorama Drive in Bakersfield, California. Students can also attend the Weill Institute in the downtown part of the city and the Delano Center, which is a mere 35 miles away from the city of Bakersfield.

Courses

The courses at Bakersfield offer students career and technical programs with the ability to schedule classes online. There is literally a course for everyone because the school offers quite a few programs that can interest a wide range of individuals. There is a program for public and human service. These areas of interests include child development, culinary arts, law enforcement programs and many more. Agricultural programs offer students training in animal science, forestry, crop science, agriculture and business management and environmental horticulture.

A digital arts program is offered as well as health services like those in the nursing field. Business education and computer science allows students to possess skills in fields that are rapidly growing. Automotive, welding, and other career choices give students the opportunity to apprentice while in school to get real world hands on training. Classes are offered part time with evening and weekend classes. Students can also obtain college credit by working on campus.
