About the college

The Claremont School of Theology has quite a rich history. In 1885 the Maclay College of Theology was founded and then after name changes and location changes the school settled into Claremont and has been thriving ever since. The college has a world-renowned faculty that has unique teaching styles. The mission of Claremont is to teach students through inter religious study to transform and education students from diverse backgrounds.

Campus

The campus for the Claremont School of Theology has beautiful landscaping and architecture thanks to architect Edward Durrell Stone. The buildings are open and inviting and natural sunlight makes the school look luminous throughout the days of studying. The campus is a mere 35 miles from the city of Los Angeles. The city of Claremont is rich in education and its location gives students that plus beautiful landscape, beaches, mountains, and desert areas. The school offers students a writing center, a licensing school for ministry to qualifying students, on campus housing and a library.

Courses

The courses at Claremont are all affiliated with theology. There are 5-degree programs available. They are Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Philosophy and non-degree programs fro those wishing to conduct research with coursework. Some courses that are open for admission include a History of World Christianity, Gnosticism, Spirituality, Care and Counseling plus an extensive list of many others to choose from. The classes at Claremont all provoke discussion and help students to question their existence and the role of religion in society today.

Claremont School of Theology pairs religion with education for the ultimate learning experience. Writing is an essential part of their curriculum and students will learn history and make their own with the degrees offered at Claremont.
