About the college
La Sierra University was founded in 1922 by the Seventh-day Adventist on acres they were given by Rancho La Sierra Mexican grant. La Sierra gives out more than 120 bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees to over 2,000 students attending. “To Seek, To Know and To Serve” is the mission of the La Sierra University. Every area of the campus encourages the students to develop a deep relationship with God. La Sierra was named the most diverse university in western United States for the past five years by U.S. News & World Report.
About the campus
La Sierra has many things for the students to learn from as well as enjoy on their off time. They have a Library for studying purposes, they have many museums for them to enjoy, and there are Observatory, Arboretum, Brandstater Gallery, MICOL computing laboratory. There are also three swimming pools, a fitness center, and tennis and basketball courts. There is over 100 acres for the campus with the world famous citrus and walnut groves for everyone to stroll through. The boulevards are palm-lined. This gives each student a unique cultural and educational experience they will never forget and want to share with family and friends. They provide 850 rooms for housing and also have a meal plan that includes 10 meals a week.

The main majors taken are science, music, and business management. They also offer computer science and engineering, design, education and teaching, family and social work, fine and liberal arts, mathematics, nutrition, office administration, religion, science, and therapy & counseling. Tuition on the average is around $21,846, room and board is 46,330, books, supplies are $1,386, and odds and ends are around $2,934.
