About the college

In 1925, Ventura College has been part of the seaside community of higher education. The college is one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District. In addition, Ventura is one of 110 colleges California Community Colleges. At Ventura, students can earn associate degrees and certificates or transfer to a 4-year university. Also basic skills improvement and workforce development are a part of the curriculum at Ventura.

Campus

Ventura, California is the site for the college campus. The campus is located on 112 acres of land with ocean views along the rolling hills of the city of Ventura. The campus is located near the cities of Santa Barbara and Los Angeles with various activities throughout the state of California. The school offers financial aid and child options to those who qualify. In addition, there are intercollegiate sports on campus for men and women. Basketball, tennis, swimming and water polo are available. Career advice, academic and personal counseling and health services are offered at the school too.

Courses

The courses at Ventura are offered in academic divisions. They are career/technical education, math and science, PE and athletics and social sciences and humanities. Students can take courses in accounting, architecture, economics, human services, photography, sociology and welding. The list is from A-Z, covers quite a few different fields of study and is quite extensive. There is a course and career pathway for every student. Students can even apply online, add or drop a class, check grades and take courses with a computer and an internet connection.
