About the college

Berkeley City College is a school dedicated to its students and their desire for higher learning. Students here have the highest transfer rate to bigger 4 year colleges and universities in California like San Francisco State and U.C. Berkeley to name a few. The college was formerly known as Vista Community College and was founded in 1974. The school is one of four in the Peralta Community College and its district of colleges.

Campus

The campus of Berkeley is located in Berkeley, California at 2050 Center Street. The environment has a state of the art, urban setting for its diverse and large number of students. There are several activities that give students the opportunity to learn about campus life, civic responsibilities, and other community activities. The campus is a mere two blocks from the University of California at Berkeley so there are students always around for a rich college experience. The students are quite diverse at the college with single parents, high school students, and full time workers wanting a career change or just more education.

Courses

The courses at Berkeley have flexibility for all types of schedules. Classes are offered for day, night, and Saturday attendance. Graduation for all courses takes only 2 years and you are off to an exciting new career. The programs available include women’s studies, American Sign Language, Liberal and Multimedia Arts, business and many others. There are even online courses that can later be transferred to other universities. All programs can also be transferred when the time is right.

Berkeley City College is committed to teaching all students who wish to succeed. There is no time or age limit on education and continuing education for your current career and Berkeley is proof of that.
