About the college

MiraCosta College has a rich history. In 1934, a community college was founded under the name Oceanside-Carlsbad Junior College and it was the second community college in San Diego County. 30 years later and the college went through a name change to MiraCosta College and moved to its current location on Barnard Drive. MiraCosta is dedicated to its students and their success with innovative programs in some of the industry’s most desired career fields.
