About the college

The medical field is fast growing and always looking for the next set of qualified doctors, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacy techs and medical billers. The Valley College of Medical Careers was founded in 1986 that provides students with post secondary career training that fit’s the needs of the community and the demands of the medical field. The college offers financial aid in the beginning; externships while attending and job placement assistance upon graduation.

Campus

West Hills, California is the location for the campus of the Valley College of Medical Careers. The trade and technical career training at the college gives students the skills necessary to enter the workplace in entry-level positions. The externship programs take students into real world job environments with hands on training. The campus has classrooms, lab facilities with up to date equipment and a highly qualified and dedicated faculty and staff. Students get flexible scheduling with morning, afternoon and evening classes with the school open from 8am-10pm Monday through Friday.

Courses

The programs at the Valley College of Medical Careers are all career driven with student success in mind. Students can choose from medical assistant, medical biller, pharmacy technician and a vocational nursing program. The medical assistant program requires 720-clocked hours for completion. Graduates can then go on to work in clinics, hospitals and doctor’s offices. The medical biller program is also 720 hours that can lead to a career as a billing clerk who performs a variety of office duties.

720 hours are also required for the pharmacy technician course and the nursing program is 1560 hours. At the medical college, a career in the healthcare field can be rewarding and you may even save a life.
