About the college

Vanguard University has a rich history that involves ministry work and three men by the names of Harold K. Needham, D.W Kerr and W.C. Pierce. The year was 1920 and these men were looking to open a school that prepared others for Christian ministry work. The Southern California Bible College was born. In 1959, the name was changed to Southern California College when liberal arts majors were added. The year 1999 ushered in the name Vanguard University and today the school includes the college, Graduate School and the School of Professional Studies.
