About the college

The California Maritime Academy is an institution focused on the education of global studies, including maritime affairs, marine transportation, and mechanical engineering. This academy is special because it is the only maritime academy on the west coast and only one of seven that offers maritime degrees in the US. The school offers international travel with real world hands on experience and a two-month stint upon an international training cruise ship known as Golden Bear.

Campus

Vallejo, California is home to the California Maritime Academy. The campus can be accessed from many different areas in California from the Benicia Bridge to Sonoma and from Sacramento and San Francisco too. The campus is located on the waterfront of the Carquinez Strait with beautiful scenery and picturesque views. CSUM has several amenities for its students including a library that is open to the public as well, dining services, housing and jobs that are available for students to apply to while they attend college.

Courses

The California Maritime Academy has programs that offer both majors and minors in the fields that are of maritime and engineering. There are six majors the students can choose to further their career - Mechanical engineering, marine engineering technology, marine transportation, global studies/maritime affairs, facilities engineering technology and international business and logistics that also include business administration. The minors program also has six programs. They include law, business administration, global studies /maritime affairs, marine, navel science, and a qualified member of the engineering department program.

California Maritime Academy offers its students the best in maritime education. Not only do they have the most up to date equipment they also offer a 2 month off campus opportunity. The stay on the Golden Bear cruise ship gives real world training that no classroom work can compete with.
