About the College
LA College, also known as West LA College was founded in 1981. They have a career-focused education, which means you can earn a degree in as little as 18 months. They plan their curriculum around busy schedules so you can attend at your convenience. Being in the heart of LA, the students find themselves in one of the most exciting cities in the world. This private, for Profit College has an impressive list of courses compared to the size of the school. You will find at LA College that it is a career focused, engaging curricula with experienced, award winning instructors. The student services are a very friendly and dedicated addition to our school.
About the campus
LA College spans more than 70 acres. The sports teams are the Wildcats and the mascot is a wildcat. On campus housing and meals are not available at LA College. You can speak with the guidance counselor and they will help you get available housing information to get you settled before starting school. They offer remedial services, Academic/Career Counseling, PT Cost-defraying Employment, Career Placement, and a Library.
About the courses
Although when it was first established it was to train students in data processing, it has grown to include many other courses including health care, graphic design, and business management. The most common courses are design, computer science and engineering, therapy and counseling, and medical administration, as well as criminal justice. Check the course guide for the many other degrees you can receive. There are online courses available as well as distance learning. Online courses require you to have your own computer and know how to retrieve files and save them. You must also know how to install the provided software onto your computer.
