Claremont McKenna College is one of the seven colleges under the community known as The Claremont Colleges. This is a prestigious group of schools with CMC being at the top with other competing liberal arts schools. CMC is a private college that was founded in 1946. The school is dedicated to the liberal arts field, but is also focused on the areas of interest in economics, government, and international relations. The mission at CMC is to its students the tools to make a difference and put their mark on the world.

Campus

The campus is located in Claremont, California. The school offers cutting edge research centers. CMC is a school dedicated to going green and helping the environment. Leadership has been introduced into the school by way of power use, building construction and waste management practices all with the environment in mind. The campus has the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum where faculty and students can gather for discussions, lunches, and student organizations.

Courses

Claremont pairs liberal arts with public affairs. The school wants its students to research and find answers to social, political, economic, and environmental problems. CMC offers research institutes and an economics department named Robert Day School of Economics and Finance for students. The research institutes vary in topic from work, family and children, economics and humanistic studies to leadership, political economy and state and local government.

The Robert Day School of Economics offers students undergraduate programs and a master’s program in finance. The topics for the undergraduate programs are extensive with over 40 upper level courses and majors in economics and economics/accounting. CMC is an amazing research school. Students can find answers to the communities’ and world’s toughest problems and voice their concerns while finding a rewarding career.
