About the college

San Joaquin Valley College, SJVC, has been a part of quality education in the California area since 1977. While the school has campuses all over California and offers, a variety of in demand career programs it is their Fresno aviation campus that has been high flying for a lot of students. The program teaches the basics in the aviation field with hands on training in the hangar with aircraft, airframe and power plant overhaul education.

Campus

The Fresno aviation campus is closely located to the main campus at Fresno, Yosemite National Airport and the air guard station. Fresno, California offers scenic beauty and local attractions with year round weather that is perfect for present and future fliers and pilots. Students get hands on training in the hangar with actual planes where engine repair and fuel metering systems can be worked on.

Courses

The aviation course at the Fresno campus is called aviation maintenance technology. Students get an opportunity to earn an associate of science degree in the field that prepares graduates for an Airframe and Powerplant license with the Federal Aviation Administration. This can be achieved through hands on training in aircraft engine repair, airframe repair, assembling and disassembling parts, propeller and engine systems, electricity, turbine/jet engine systems, fuel metering systems and sheet metal structures. The training does lead to certification.

With this level of education, graduates can go on to rewarding careers working for airlines, commuter and corporate air fleets and air freight companies. With SJVC and its aviation campus and program, the sky is the limit. Your education can take you anywhere, the success is just a plane ride away, and if that plane breaks down you will have the skills to fix it. With education like that, your future can fly high.
